Identifying The Factors Affecting The Spatial Planning of Sports Facilities in Tehran Municipality

| The purpose of this study was to identify the factors affecting the spatial planning of Municipality's sports venues and facilities in Tehran. The qualitative exploratory method was used in this research. The statistical population of the research included the managers of Tehran Municipality, specialists and university professors in the executive, scientific and the research field. Purposive sampling approach was employed to interview the experts for sample data collection. Fifteen interviews were conducted until the theoretical saturation was achieved. In total, 16 factors were identified influential on the spatial planning of venues and facilities, which were classified in 4 main categories. These categories were Managerial, economic, socio- cultural, and physical-infrastructural factors. According to the research findings, it seems that paying attention to the above factors will lead to proper distribution based on the citizens' needs and interests and preventing urban ecological damages. |
