The aim of this study is to design a model for the effect of sport participation motivations on productivity of employees of public universities of Tehran with the mediation role of job crafting. The research is a Quantitative study, of descriptive correlation type. The statistical population consists of the employees of public universities of Tehran. Sample size determination in structural equations (n = 538) was selected by probability sampling by proportional stratified sampling. The research instrument for questionnaires were Hersey, & Goldsmith Productivity Questionnaire (1980), Slemp and Vella-Brodrick job crafting questionnaire (2013) and a researcher-made questionnaire of employees sport participation motivation. Face validity was checked with experts’ advices. Confirmatory factor analysis was used for Structural validity .The reliability of all the questionnaires with Cronbach's alpha was above 0.70.The result showed that, 46% of the total effect of sport participation motivation on productivity was explained by the mediator variable of job crafting. The GOF fit with 0.307, indicates a moderate fit.According to positive effects of variables of sport participation motivations and job crafting on productivity, it is suggested for organizational leaders to emphasize on the role of these two variables to increase employee’s productivity.
